SIX WEEK FOUNDATION


This program is not another fad.  It's not a quick fix. There's no magic pills, no crazy fitness routines, and no empty promises.  It’s a program designed to give you a foundation for change -- a foundation you can build on for years to come.   


 

WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?

This is primarily a weight training and nutrition program (yes, there is some cardio) for people over the age of 40.  

After the age of 40 you lose up to 1% of your muscle mass with each passing year!  Your  metabolism slows, bone density decreases, your joints become stiff, and you experience hormonal changes. For women, declining estrogen levels and other hormonal changes initiate significant shifts. The primary driver of many of these changes  is the transition into perimenopause and menopauseFor men, andropause marks a gradual decline in testosterone levels  leading to physical and psychological, changes. Unlike menopause, it's a gradual process rather than a sudden stop.

The physical transformations that follow these changes often impact how we perceive ourselves. People previously confident and comfortable in their skin can find it challenging to accept their ageing bodies.

This is why weight training is super important as we age. It helps keep our muscles strong, keeps our bones healthy, and improves our heart health.  It can also help us manage our weight, boost our metabolism, and even improve our mental health. It just makes us feel better overall! 

 


While you can see dramatic results in short time with the proper training, this SIX WEEK FOUNDATION is designed to assist you on fitness journey and give you the tools to succeed on your own.


 

Six weeks is a relatively short amount of time -- this is not a quick fix.  But if you're committed to the program, you will see changes. And while the program is very manageable, it will take hard work!  You'll be pushed like never before!  A times you may want to quit.  It will be difficult.   

 

This program is designed for all levels.  Perhaps you’re already pretty active and used to working out but you’ve noticed things are slipping?  Maybe you have a predominately sedentary lifestyle, and you’re new to lifting weights?  Perhaps you've never worked out before!  The bottom line is, if you're willing to make the commitment, this program is for you!

 

ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL EATING RESTRICTIONS?

Just as there are many people who want to sell you a quick-fix exercise routine, there are many more pushing the latest diet craze.  And to be honest, it's hard to navigate all the information that comes at you everyday regarding what's good for you and what you should or shouldn't be eating.  There are many diets out there:  Keto, Mediterranean, Paleo, Atkins, Plant-based, Carnivore, South Beach, Organic, Gluten-Free... the list goes on.  One person says red meat is bad for you and another says the carnivore diet is the answer.  Some swear by intermittent fasting while others promote eating six meals a day.  It's all really confusing!

The SIX WEEK  FOUNDATION  introduces a radical change in lifestyle for most people. Along with the workouts, there comes a more radical way of looking at food.

Contrary to popular belief, fat cannot turn into muscle.  So you'll need to start cutting out the bad stuff you're eating and start feeding your body what it really needs.  Depending on your weight, I'll tailor an eating plan that is balanced on protein and specific carbs, but really restricts fat sources (especially the bad ones). You will receive a packet containing all the tools you'll need to make the necessary changes in your diet.  This can be challenging for a lot of people.  But this is how you can really start seeing noticeable changes.  Coupled with the exercise routines, this eating plan produces  what is called a calorie deficit. You'll be taking in less calories than your burning.  This combination of both the exercise and healthy eating results in both fat loss and muscle gain.  

But as I've said earlier, the  SIX WEEK FOUNDATION is just a starting point.  This type of eating is not meant to be a long term solution, but will give you a jump-start to your lifestyle transformation.  Some people will need more of a boost than others.  No two people are the same.  We are not going to focus just on the scale. No one is going to starve.  While the amount of food may seem restrictive, you'll be eating whole, healthy food that will fill you up.   And you'll develop healthy habits that you can use for many years to come... habits that will result in you feeling more confident and will increase your overall health and well-being.

 

HOW MANY HOURS OF TRAINING WILL I RECEIVE?

You will receive three 60 min. one-on-one sessions  per week for the six week period.  That is 18 one-on-one, dedicated and focused training hours!  I will tailor the exercises to your fitness level and provide you with a private and secure place to workout, and I’ll be there to guide and encourage you along the journey.  Every 2 weeks we will evaluate your progress and change up the exercises so you won't get tired of doing the same routines over and over.

But the key ingredient to all of this is what you'll bring... I'll need your commitment, perseverance and dedication.  

 

HOW MUCH WILL ALL OF THIS COST?

While I realize that people have financial constraints (I do as well), I truly believe that this short-term, SIX WEEK investment will help you start habits that will yield a lifetime of rewards.  You'll be equipped to continue on your fitness journey with confidence.  

 


So perhaps the better question is, "What is the cost if you do nothing?" 


 

What are five more years of random, inconsistent exercise and poor diet going to cost you?.. perhaps ten more pounds of unwanted body fat?  What are ten more years of a sedentary lifestyle going to cost you...  possibly more joint pain and getting winded walking up the stairs.  What will you look and feel like in fifteen more years...  perhaps you won't be able to play with grandchildren due to years of poor mobility.

So why not do something to offset these scenarios?  What's keeping you from making the choice to become stronger, have more energy and more motivation?  

But I don't want you to think that this program will be easy either.  Yes, it's only three hours a week, but those will be a difficult three hours! And restricting the kinds of foods you eat… that’s not easy either. But easy should not be the goal.

 


The hard work and dedication you will put in will be difficult, but it will produce, in you, something much more than a better physique and a healthier body.  You are learning lessons like perseverance, self-discipline, and the ability to overcome.  These are things only difficult situations can produce. This is really the crux of the matter.  


Our fitness journey is just something that helps us on our overall journey in life. The positive effects of weight lifting and proper nutrition — the increased health benefits; the enhanced well-being — these are great outcomes no doubt.


The more important thing is what those outcomes produce in us... character. I don’t know of many other pursuits that compare.
